I am a MSK Advanced Practitioner Physiotherapist with many years of postgraduate experience and a special interest in diagnosis-making, red flags screening, and pain management. I am CSP, MACP, and PPA full member.
I work within an NHS MSK service where I run CAT/Interface clinics and I line manage a few colleagues from the Physiotherapy service.
My clinical practice is based on the rigorous use of the biopsychosocial framework and the best available scientific evidence.
My clinical approach involves an accurate assessment that always includes the screening of red and yellow flags; a careful diagnosis that also considers psychosocial aspects; a management plan always shared and agreed with the patient, which is usually based on a large use of patient education, advice, lifestyle modification, optimisation of medications, exercise prescription, and psychological approaches such as CBT, mindfulness-based interventions and ACT; and the use of validated outcome measures to keep track of the improvements when follow ups are planned.
I also work in the education field as lecturer at PgD in Science and Practice of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy of University of Molise.
Finally, I was member of GTM executive committee, the Italian IFOMPT member organization, for the mandate 2017-2019.
