The Study
The aim of this study is to investigate the attitudes and perceptions of UK-based MSK physiotherapists towards sleep in the assessment of MSK conditions. Despite the recognition of sleep in MSK health, there is a clear gap in research examining physiotherapists’ perceptions on this topic area. Gaining insight into these perspectives can help identify potential gaps in clinical practice and guide future research to inform evidence-based developments in MSK physiotherapy. Furthermore, this study will provide a foundation for future qualitative research to deepen our understanding in this area.
You are being invited to complete an online survey as part of a master’s course being undertaken by Sushma Thapa, a Musculoskeletal (MSK) Advanced physiotherapy student at the University of Hertfordshire, UK.
Please read the following information carefully before deciding whether to take part. Please ask if there is anything that is not clear or if you would like more information.
You are eligible to take part in this study if you are 18 or over, a HCPC registered MSK physiotherapist practicing in the UK in either a private or an NHS setting.
What does taking part involve?
If you agree to participate, you will complete an online questionnaire exploring your perceptions and beliefs about the role of sleep in the assessment of MSK disorders. It will take approximately 5-10 minutes to complete. Please answer honestly and openly.
