Portfolio Route

Welcome to the MACP portfolio route to membership page.

In order to qualify for membership to the MACP you will need to provide evidence of the following:

We offer 2 pathways to membership: The standard pathway and the accelerated pathway. An overview of requirements for each pathway are provided in the figure below:

STANDARD PATHWAY

The standard pathway is suitable for early and mid-professional career musculoskeletal physiotherapists. In order to qualify for this route you must have at least 2 years post qualification clinical experience in musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. You will need to map your portfolio against the  IFOMPT standards document 2016. In addition you need to demonstrate evidence formal educational training, usually in the form of Master’s  level university modules, that encompass theoretical learning a minimum of 200 hours, practical skills a minimum of 150 hours and mentored clinical practice a minimum 150 hours

THE ACCELERATED PATHWAY

The accelerated pathway is suitable for physiotherapists who are working at or towards consultant level and have extensive musculoskeletal experience. You will need to map your portfolio against the IFOMPT standards document 2016. In addition, you need to demonstrate evidence formal educational training, usually in the form of Master’s level university modules that encompass theoretical learning a minimum of 200 hours, practical skills a minimum of 150 hours.
