What is MCP?
The MCP provides a structured and supportive clinical placement for MSK professionals, offering self-directed learning, mentorship, and an opportunity to benchmark your clinical skills against IFOMPT standards.
For those undertaking Portfolio Route 1 and 2, completion of MCP is required. MCP aims to support personal development of knowledge, skills and attributes in MSK advance practice and nurturing professional growth.
With a ‘self-directed’ learning contract, Mentees set their own objectives in a specific period(i.e. during MCP). It is a negotiated agreement,so Mentees will have to strike some balance between what they want to learn/ achieve during their MCP, and the overarching learning outcomes of the MCP (i.e. Dimension 10 of IFOMPT standard).
