The Maitland Fellowship

This award has been created to support the clinical development of members and provide additional training by funding/part-funding a visit to a clinic/centre of excellence (in the UK or abroad).
Geoffrey Maitland’s clinical expertise and enthusiasm has been a source of inspiration to countless clinicians over the years, and this award is a fitting tribute to his many achievements. This award is relevant to MACP members who have provided mentored clinical practiced for postgraduate physiotherapy students/NMSK physiotherapists undertaking an approved route to MACP membership.
Criteria for Applications
- Applicants must be full members of the MACP.
- Applicants have provided mentored clinical practice for post graduate students/qualified NMSK physiotherapists undertaking an approved route to MACP membership.
Review of Applications
- Applications will be judged by the CEPD committee
- Applicants will be notified in writing within 6 weeks of the submission deadline.
- The results will be announced at the AGM, where the successful applicant (or a nominated representative) will be presented with the award.
Conditions of the Award
- Any publications/presentations that relate to work supported by the award should acknowledge the contribution of the MACP
- The successful applicant will be required to produce a 500-word report, which will be uploaded to the MACP website, within 3 months of the end of the period of study.
- A blog or podcast detailing the benefits of the experience will also be requested to promote the award to prospective candidates in the future.
- Any applicant not meeting this requirement will normally be required to reimburse the MACP for the full amount of the award.

Payment of monies
Monies will only be paid once confirmation of acceptance has been received by the hosting clinic or Centre of Excellence (UK or abroad)
